Cllr June French, Cabinet Member (Human Resources and Corporate Support Services) said: “The improvements to services, particularly in new claims processing, is part of a rolling programme to improve efficiency and customer service.
“This modest investment in Garrick House has been made to make our services more accessible in the City.”
Many of these services have been relocated from the Town Hall in order to provide better access for disabled users, improved interview facilities, and an enhanced service to customers.
In particular, the council is seeking to achieve a significant reduction in the delay in processing new claims for benefits.
