Hereford City Council is putting out a call to all budding David Baileys and aspiring Van Goughs.
To help celebrate the centenary of Hereford Town Hall, the City Council is holding a competition for all local artists.
The Council is looking for drawings, paintings or photos of the Town Hall as it is now.
The Mayor will personally donate champagne for the competition which will be awarded to the top of the crop.
The best work will also become part of the Town Hall’s collection and be kept on permanent display.
Competition entry forms can be requested from the Mayor’s Secretary on 01432 260438 or picked up in person at the Town Hall.
All competition entries should be sent to the Mayor’s Secretary, at Hereford Town Hall, Hereford, HR1 2PJ, by Tuesday 24 August.
The competition will be judged by the Mayor, helped by local experts who will cast their eyes over the entries in September.
“We have the original drawings of the town hall from 1904 and an image from home-grown talent of the building as it looks in 2004 is an ideal way to help celebrate its centenary year,”
said Hereford Mayor, Cllr Polly Andrews.
“The Town Hall collection has some wonderful photos and pictures of the building through the ages, a contemporary image will be a perfect addition,” she added.
