Some of Herefordshire's most talented young musicians are taking on some of the world's greatest composers in a concert organised by Herefordshire Council's Music Service.
The concert featuring the Herefordshire Youth Orchestra will be conducted by Hazel Davis and Sir Richard Mynors.
This year, the orchestra will be performing The Hebrides Overture (Fingal's Cave) by Mendelssohn, Haydn's Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra in Eb major featuring 17 old Michael Prestage, and Khachaturian's Sabre Dance from the Gayaneh Ballet.
After the interval, the orchestra will perform Symphony no. 8 in G major by Dvorak.
Clifford Woollard, head of the council's music service, said: "We have nearly sixty young people aged from 14 to18 in the county's youth orchestra. Standards are extremely high and we are always looking for new recruits to join us".
"The young musicians have been rehearsing for this concert for some weeks now and I feel confident they will do justice to some of the great musical works we all enjoy."
The concert takes place at The Shirehall in Hereford on Thursday 13th November at 7.30pm. Tickets are available on the door: adults £4, concessions £3, 18 years and under free.
