Appointments comply with the requirements of the Commissioner for Public Appointments' (OCPA) Code of Practice.
Non-executive directors of the PCT work alongside executive directors such as the Chief Executive, Chris Bull, and non-executive Chairman Joanna Newton chairs the board.
Joanna Newton, Chairman of the PCT, said: "Alan and Jane have already contributed greatly to the development and success of Herefordshire Primary Care Trust and I welcome very much the continued contribution of their expertise and experience, as well as their local knowledge as members of the community, to the work of the board in meeting the needs of people in Herefordshire".
All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees' political activity (if any declared) to be made public. Alan Curless and Jane Rogers declared no political activities, and do not hold any other Ministerial appointments. Non-Executive Directors receive a remuneration of £7,765 a year.
