French and local traders will be joining forces to bring the popular European Market back to Ross and Leominster 1-3 October.
The European Market will be in Broad Street, Ross-on-Wye on Friday 1 October, where the French traders will be joined by a strong contingent of local farmer’s market traders.
The market will then move onto Corn Square, Leominster for Saturday 2 – Sunday 3 October.
The European Market brings a taste of the continent to the county and blends it with the local flavours of our own successful farmer’s market.
Shoppers will be spoilt for choice with taste bud tickling offerings ranging from cheeses, crepes and mustards to sausages, jams and breads.
Visitors to the European Market in Hereford earlier this year made comments such as ‘I love the market, please continue’, ‘Superb event’, ‘More visits please’ and ‘Tres bon’.
Market shoppers will again be given the opportunity to win a hamper full of French delicacies.
To be in with a chance of winning a hamper you simply need to ask one of the traders for a form to complete. Forms are then entered into a draw and the winner will be selected and contacted on the final day of the market.
Angela Jackman, Co-ordinator of Herefordshire Farmer’s Markets said: “We welcome the opportunity to join forces with the French traders and be a part of the European Market.
“The European Market should bring in many customers which can only benefit our traders. It also gives all the customers great choice, they can have a taste of the continent along with our home-grown delicacies.”
“I’m delighted the European Market is returning, it brings with it a great atmosphere and has proved to be very popular,”
said Cllr Mayson, Cabinet Member (Rural Regeneration and Small Holdings).
“In fact the market has gone down so well we’re now making it an annual event,” he added.
The European Market in Ross requires Broad Street to be closed from its junction with High Street/Gloucester Road to its junction with New Street, this takes place at the same time as the long-term closure of Greytree Road.
