Herefordshire Record Office will be hosting an informal reception to mark the introduction of new facilities for users with disabilities on Thursday, 30 September, from 6pm-8pm.
Councillor Roger Phillips, Leader of Herefordshire Council, and Jim Lawes, President of Herefordshire Access for All, will officially welcome the new services.
The improvements, which include automatic doors at the main entrance, a lift to the research area and adapted furniture, are an important part of Herefordshire’s commitment to extending access to its Cultural Services.
Anyone with a disability and an interest in using the extensive archives at the Record Office is welcome to attend the reception and try the new amenities.
Rhys Griffith, Senior Archivist, said: “We very much hope that the facilities we have recently introduced will make the Record Office a more welcoming place for users with disabilities.”
