Herefordshire Council to inspect roads

27 October 2008

With temperatures forecast to be below zero degrees tomorrow morning (October 28), Herefordshire Council's highways engineers will be inspecting the county's roads tomorrow morning and will carry out any necessary treatments.

The aim of the inspection is to minimise the risk to the travelling public from the hazardous effects of ice and snow on highway surfaces.

Clive Hall, Herefordshire Council's network manager, said: "Motorists are warned to take extra care tomorrow as there may be some ice on the roads.

"If temperatures do fall below zero, then we will make sure the roads are gritted but motorists should still make sure they drive according to the conditions," he added.
