The Chairman of Herefordshire Council, Cllr John Stone, has congratulated the Countess of Darnley on her appointment as the new Lord-Lieutenant for Herefordshire.
The Countess' appointment by the Queen follows the retirement of Sir Thomas Dunne KG KCVO on October 24.
"I'm delighted that someone with such high standing in the community is the successor to Sir Thomas Dunne," said Cllr Stone.
"Lord and Lady Darnley have farmed in Herefordshire more than 20 years and I can think of no-one more suitable to hold this very public post.
"I look forward to meeting her soon in my capacity as Chairman of Herefordshire Council."
