Storyteller to be at county libraries

20 October 2008

Storyteller Sal Tonge will be visiting two of Herefordshire Council's libraries during the half-term holidays.

She will be running two animated storytelling sessions aimed at entertaining under fives and enthusing parents with practical ideas for their own storytelling and sharing books together.

Sessions will be held in Leominster Library and Hereford Library on Wednesday, October 29.

Sarah Chedgzoy, Herefordshire Council's principal officer for young people and learning, said: "We are holding this event to highlight storytelling as part of the National Year of Reading and to encourage under 5's membership of the library and participation in the Bookstart Book crawl.

"The sessions will offer children a lively and engaging storytelling experience and it will give parents ideas and confidence in reading to their children at home and sharing books together," she added.

Tickets are available in advance but spaces are limited. Contact Hereford Library on 01432 383600 or Leominster on 01432 383290 for further details and availability.
