Steve Jones, Ross library supervisor, said: "After the fantastic success of the Games Workshop group in Hereford Library which regularly attracts 20 or more gamers, we decided to hold this tester session so children in Ross can come along and play the games, paint miniatures and meet fellow gamers.
"We are hoping to encourage young people into the library to enjoy the many aspects of this hobby.
"If this taster is popular, we hope to start up a regular group in the library. Gamers do not need their own equipment in order to join but those with their own armies are welcome to bring them along.
"The Games Workshop in Hereford is being used as an example of good practice by the regional Year of Reading Coordinator to be shared with other national libraries. We also supplement the group with a range of Warhammer and Games Workshop publications, so they can even read about the battles when they aren't playing them," he added.
There are limited places for the Games Workshop and they need to be booked in advance by telephoning 01432 383280.
