The money was achieved through a Section 106 agreement on planning approval for 300 homes on land to the north of Roman Road, Holmer, and will help to fund a new Hydrosense facility at the school.
Councillor Brian Wilcox, ward member for Aylestone, said: "As the local councillor, I felt it was very important to look after the vulnerable in our society and ensure that this planning development paid towards sustaining this precious but often overlooked part of the community.
"If I hadn't done this then the school would have missed out on this valuable cash boost," he added.
Mr Richard Aird, headteacher of the school in Barrs Court Road, said: "Councillor Wilcox has done us a wonderful service by securing this money for us.
"The new facility will include a hydrotherapy pool to help children and adults who have physical difficulties maintain good standards of mobility.
"There will be purpose-built changing rooms and special hoists to help children and adults get into the pool. It will also include an interactive drama studio for children who are profoundly autistic so they can learn how to interact better and take part in the performing arts.
"This wonderful contribution will be particularly helpful for ensuring the facility can be open for use out of school hours by disabled children and adults from across Herefordshire," he said.
