Council corrects Journal’s front page by-election mistake

Herefordshire Council has acted swiftly to correct a front page article in the Leominster Journal, published today, September 24.

The article suggests the forthcoming Leominster South Ward by-election, which takes place on Thursday, October 2, would happen the following day, Friday, October 3.

Residents in the Leominster South Ward are being reassured that the election will take place on Thursday, October 2.

The locations of the polling stations are:

• The School Room, The Methodist Church, Green Lane, Leominster HR6 8QJ
• The Moravian Church Hall, South Street, Leominster HR6 8JH
• Ivington Village Hall (The Community Room), Ivington, Leominster
• The Lounge, Leominster Leisure Centre, Coningsby Road, Leominster HR6 8LL

The by-election is to be held following the death of veteran Herefordshire councillor Dick Burke, who died in the summer.
