Broadband – help us to help you

12 September 2008

Broadband is helping many individuals and businesses across Herefordshire and is bringing the world into people's homes.

However, Herefordshire Council is aware that while many are enjoying fast broadband connections, there are areas which either have no broadband connection, or suffer a poor quality service.

"The main areas which may be without broadband have been established by the council's research team but problems in other areas have also been confirmed through complaints fed back through councillors," said Alan Ronald, the council's senior economic regeneration officer.

"We're in the process of talking to BT about this - but the problems won't be easy or cheap to overcome and may require different solutions," added Alan.

"To help us with this we need a better idea of how many people are having problems, and where they live."

Anyone suffering broadband frustration is asked to get in touch with the council by phoning Info in Herefordshire on 01432 260500, or if they have access to the internet at work or elsewhere, then complete an on-line consultation form or email: economicinvestment@herefordshire.gov.uk.
