Election candidates known

Candidates standing for election in the forthcoming by election in the Leominster South Ward have been confirmed.

The four candidates who will be up for election on Thursday, October 2, are:

• Matt Lane
• Peter James McCaull
• Keith Edward Miles
• Joan Thwaites

Anyone needing a proxy vote - if they are away on polling day - have until 5pm on Thursday, September 24 to apply for one. They can be obtained by contacting the council's electoral registration team at Hereford Town Hall, in St Owen Street, Hereford, or by telephoning the team on 01432 260107.

Polling cards have been sent out - but if anyone has not received one, or has mislaid it, they can still go to one of four polling stations to vote.

The polling stations for the election will be at:

• The School Room, The Methodist Church, Green Lane, Leominster HR6 8QJ
• The Moravian Church Hall, South Street, Leominster HR6 8JH
• Ivington Village Hall (The Community Room), Ivington, Leominster
• The Lounge, Leominster Leisure Centre, Coningsby Road, Leominster HR6 8LL
