Businesses can learn more about asbestos

08 September 2008

Spare places are still available for local businesses interested to know more about regulations covering asbestos in their buildings.

Herefordshire Council's environmental health and trading standards service together with the Health and Safety Executive are hosting a seminar on the Duty to Manage Asbestos.

The seminar, aimed at owners and agents of commercial property in Herefordshire, is being held at Hedley Lodge, Belmont Abbey in Hereford on the morning of Friday, September 26.

People taking part will learn more about the hazards associated with building materials containing asbestos, what is required of landlords and agents to manage these hazards and also gain practical information on how compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations can be managed and achieved.

Speakers include representatives from Worcestershire Scientific Services, the Health and Safety Executive and Marstons Inns and Taverns.

Any business interested in attending this free event is asked to contact Susannah Burrage on 01432 261714 or email sburrage@herefordshire.gov.uk for further details and a seminar programme.
