Bredwardine Bridge closed for emergency repairs

Herefordshire Council has been forced to close Bredwardine Bridge over the River Wye today (August 4) after a hole appeared in the carriageway.

Engineers are now investigating the problem and the grade II listed bridge, built in 1769, will be repaired as quickly as possible.

Motorists are urged to find an alternative route.
