Plans to demolish workshops and build seven homes with car parking at Marsh Mill, Bridge Street, Leominster, have been approved by members of the northern area planning sub-committee at their meeting on Wednesday, July 30.
This application was deferred for members to carry out a site visit and seek additional financial contributions in line with the planning obligations guidance.
Herefordshire Council’s conservation manager advised that the former Marsh Mill is an important part of the industrial heritage of Leominster, a town which has already lost many of its former mills.
He felt the existing mill should be the key to regenerating the site but members were advised that demolition was required to provide a safe access to the new homes
The scheme involves the creation of seven homes, four two-bedroomed, two three-bedroomed and one one-bedroomed flat.
