Could you create a tasty meal for two for £5 using entirely Herefordshire ingredients?

If you’d like to win cash presented by the Hairy Bikers at the Herefordshire Food Festival and have your recipe in a special recipe book of Herefordshire recipes, it’s time to get cooking!

“Flavours of Herefordshire is out to prove that local food – as well as being delicious - need not be expensive,” said Jane Lewis, Herefordshire Council’s cultural services manager.

“We’re looking for the best recipe for a Herefordshire meal for two for a total for £5 (herbs, spices and condiments can be sourced from outside the county).

“Please let us know where you are sourcing your ingredients and how much they cost. If you’re growing your own, estimate the price a shop would charge.

“Remember you need to be able to source all the ingredients at the same time - so avoid a combination of apples and strawberries!” added Jane.

Recipes should be e-mailed to GEM@herefordshire.gov.uk or sent to Jane Lewis at the council’s office in Plough Lane, Hereford HR4 0XH, by Monday, October 6.
