Kington Town Council looking for two new councillors

25 July 2008

Following the recent resignation of two councillors, Kington Town Council now has vacancies for two new members.

Anyone wanting to stand needs to complete a nomination form and return it to Herefordshire Council’s electoral registration team by midday on Thursday, July 31.

As there are two vacancies, if two or less people stand, they will be elected unopposed.

If more than two stand, an election will be triggered. This will be held on Thursday, August 28.

Nomination papers can be obtained from the following sources:

· The Electoral Registration Office, County Offices, Bath Street, Hereford HR1 2HQ

· Mrs K Lomax, Kington Town Clerk, 2 Mill Street, Kington HR 5 3BH

Completed nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at the offices in Bath Street by noon on July 31.

Anyone wanting more information should contact the Electoral Registration team on 01432 260110.
