There’ll be something for youngsters of all ages when the Golden Valley Children’s Centre is officially opened.
While the centre, based at the Kingstone High School site, has just been completed and is already in use, its official opening will take place on Wednesday, September 24.
As well as the centre opening its doors to prospective pupils, Kingstone and Thruxton Primary School and Kingstone High School will also be throwing open their doors to give families the opportunity to find out about a range of services that can be accessed from birth to adulthood on the same site.
The Children’s Centre caters for families with children 0-5 years, and works in partnership with other agencies such as health visitors, local schools and Kingstone and Thruxton’s family centre group.
The Golden Valley Children’s Centre has already begun visiting families, offering support and providing information on what is available locally.
Experienced and qualified family support workers are happy to talk to families and can often be found at the centre where families and carers can call in for a chat and a coffee or appointments can be made.
On Wednesday, September 24, Golden Valley Children’s Centre will be open from 10am to 3pm and again at 5pm to 7pm.
Cllr Jenny Hyde, Herefordshire Council’s cabinet member for children’s services, will officially open the centre at 1pm.
The open day will offer young children and their families a range of activities such as arts and crafts, storytime and outdoor play.
The adults don’t miss out either and are given the opportunity to meet Children Centre staff, find out about services and meet other families. Refreshments will also be available.
