What are the Options for the future growth of Herefordshire?

19 June 2008

Herefordshire Council is consulting on the possible options for the future growth affecting the county as a place to live, work, move, improve, grow and enjoy.

The consultations are being held as part of the first stage of developing a new style development plan which will cover the period to 2026.

The "Shaping our Place" consultation is running from June 16 until August 8 2008. A Developing Options Paper, summary leaflet and questionnaire is available to download or fill in online on the council's website at www.herefordshire.gov.uk/ldf

The Developing Options paper and questionnaire has also been placed at various Info points and public libraries throughout the county.

This consultation is part of the preparation of a core strategy document for the new development plan for Herefordshire called the Local Development Framework. The paper includes a vision, set of objectives and range of possible strategic and policy options to help shape Herefordshire towards 2026.

During the consultation period, members of the council's forward planning team will be running a series of planning road shows at venues in Bromyard, Ewyas Harold, Hereford, Kington, Ledbury, Leominster and Ross on Wye.

The road shows will involve displays and the chance for members of the public to find out more and pick up a copy of the leaflet, document and questionnaire.

The first road show is to be held in Kington (opposite primary school) on Tuesday July 1 from 10am until 1pm and the final one on in Hereford on Wednesday July 23, 10am until 3pm.

Other roadshows are:

Wednesday, July 2: Info Centre, Bromyard, 10am until 1pm
Tuesday, July 8: Market Square, Ross, 10am until 1pm
Wednesday, July 9: Corn Square Leominster, 10am until 1pm
Tuesday, July 15: St Katherine Street car park, Ledbury, 10am until 1pm
Wednesday, July 16: Memorial Hall, Ewyas Harold, 10am until 1pm

For further details look out for the "What are the Options?" posters, check the website address above or telephone Emma Lawrence on 01432 383357.

After the consultation, the council will consider all the comments received and use them to develop the next stage in the core strategy process.
