A second vacancy has emerged for Kington town council following the resignation of Councillor Harvey R Jones.
Herefordshire Council has forwarded a letter to all households in the Kington area and a notice of vacancy has been posted in the parish and on the council's web site: www.herefordshire.gov.uk/elections. Residents have until 3rd July to decide whether request an election to fill the vacancy, after which time a new member can be co-opted by the town council.
Meanwhile residents of Kington have the opportunity to elect a new town councillor on 26 June 2008.
Four people have been nominated for a seat on Kington Town Council and these are Esther Rolls, Jess Squire, Janet Thomas and Barrington Thomas Trumper, all of Kington.
The second vacancy will not be filled at this election.
