Start of a new life for Ledbury Tourist Information Centre

31 March 2008

The relocation of the Ledbury Tourist Information centre to its new home in the Master's House is almost complete and the new centre will open its doors for business this Friday, April 4

There will be a small food and drink event involving local producers to mark the opening at lunchtime on the day of the reopening.

It is hoped that both local businesses and anyone from the community will take the opportunity to pay the new centre a visit.

The event starts at 11.30am.

Cllr Blackshaw, Cabinet member for economic development and community services, said: "The transfer of the service to the Master's House can be viewed as the first stage of the exciting development of St Katherine's, bringing new services and activity to the area whilst retaining the historical integrity of the building".

The Master's House will now be home for both Info in Herefordshire, which delivers the front line service for the council, and the Tourist Information centre.

It is hoped that this co-location of services will benefit the community by increasing the access to and the availability of services for all who need and use them.
