Herefordshire Council has opened a brand new state-of-the-art fitness suite at Lady Hawkins' Community Leisure Centre in Kington and is inviting local residents to look round the gym during a launch event on Tuesday 1st April from 10am to 12 noon.
The totally re-fitted gym will be open seven days a week, and includes new cardio-vascular equipment and resistance weight training equipment which is fully inclusive so that all Kington residents have the opportunity to get fit.
The leisure centre is managed by Herefordshire Council on behalf of the Lady Hawkins' Community Leisure Trust and the equipment, which has been purchased from Pulse Fitness, has been funded by Herefordshire Council.
Spencer Grogan, assistant leisure services manager, said: "We are really pleased to be able to offer a fitness suite of this quality to Kington residents. All the new gym equipment is fully inclusive for all our customers and, as a bonus, has integrated television screens in the cardio-vascular equipment."
"We are encouraging existing and new customers to have a look at the facilities on offer - we think people will be pleasantly surprised and the first 50 people to use the new gym will receive a free Pulse water bottle"
"To celebrate the opening of the new fitness suite we have a special offer - annual membership and unlimited use of the fitness suite for three months all for just £50 with free induction."
Other facilities at the leisure include a four court multi-use sports hall for five-a-side football, badminton and basketball, together with indoor cricket nets.
There is also a performing arts studio with a wide range of classes on offer including circuits, combat fitness, step aerobics, karate, Arabic belly dancing, yoga, Latino aerobics, ballroom and Latin American dancing, mini soccer coaching and a ladies' morning with crèche provided by Sure Start. In addition there are tennis courts and football/cricket pitches with practice nets outside the centre too.
