Young people rap it up in Madley

18 March 2008

Young people have the chance to test out their rapping skills and learn some new ones at a free DJ workshop this month.

Dubmerge, rap, scratch and hip hop workshop leaders, have been booked by the council's youth service to hold this special session for 11-19 year olds at Madley Village Hall from 7-9pm on 27th March.

Young people will get the chance to write their own raps, have a go on the decks, perform their raps and record them onto their own CD.

Sarah Melia, community youth worker, said: "We've run these workshops before and they are always great fun.

"We've been lucky to get Lofty and Dave again who are pretty well known locally for their rapping and scratching sessions where they always manage to get young people to achieve things they never thought they would be capable of."

The session is free to any 11-19 year old from across the county, although bookings are required through Sarah Melia on 07792 880199.
