The event takes place at the Minster College from 7pm until 9pm, and will feature a range of talks and displays from local services, including Zig Zag, a young persons substance misuse service that provides treatment, advice and information for people aged 18.
Information will also be provided by organisations such as Herefordshire Primary Care Trust, CLD Youth Counselling Trust, Family Drug Support and Herefordshire Community Safety and Drugs Partnership.
Parents will have the opportunity to learn what different drugs look like, what their effects are, how to tell if their children may have started using drugs and how to discuss the issue with them.
Members of the Leominster Local Policing Teams will also be on hand at the meeting to talk about how alcohol and drugs misuse can lead to anti-social behaviour, as well as providing reassurance about the positives steps police and partners have taken to reduce such incidents.
The event has been organised through Leominster and Area Drug and Alcohol Forum, and is funded by Herefordshire Community Safety and Drugs Partnership.
The evening is designed to be fun as well as informative and will include the chance to win a £30 voucher at Leominster Bowling in a special 'Beer Goggles Challenge' - a skittles game complete with special goggles that simulate the effects of drink or drugs, giving everyone some invaluable first hand knowledge!
Peter Wilson, chairman of the Leominster and Area Drug and Alcohol Forum, said: "The evening is designed to be an informal but informative event which gives parents the information they need to better understand the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse. Crucially, this will better arm them to recognise if and when their children are in need of help and where and who they can turn to."
Entrance is free and refreshments are provided.
