Loitering within tent – well, almost!

26 October 2007

Youngsters enjoying themselves during the half term holiday were encouraged to "loiter within tent" - or rather "loiter within a tipi" - at Hereford and Leominster libraries.

As well as coming face to face with an armadillo, meerkat and a skunk called Minty at Bromyard library, youngsters spent mornings creating tipis out of recycled material at Hereford and Leominster libraries.

"We had more than 20 children weaving and threading away to create a lovely tipi at Hereford library," said Anne-Marie Dossett, the council's reader development librarian.

"It was ideal for hiding away to read and escape into a world of the imagination," she added.

The sessions were run by the Greeneyed Monster Company.

The colourful creations will remain on display at the museums for the next few weeks for visitors to enjoy.
