On the back of five years of local development work, the council is staging a conference this November to explore how local authorities should help their creative sector.
Start and Sustain will look at how to get going and how to provide support in the long term.
"As a Department for Culture, Media and Sport Cultural Pathfinder, we have been charged with developing sustainable support services for creative industries. We've gathered together the best of what councils are doing in this sector and look forward to a dynamic conference on November 16", say Andy Dawson, Herefordshire Council's creative industries co-ordinator.
The day-long event has attracted interest from 60 local authorities and bookings are now being taken. Speakers from leading projects will be showing how they started and debating the future of long-term support.
"People have really picked up on the practical nature of the conference. There seems to be a need for sharing of best practice", Andy added.
The conference is being held at Left Bank Village, Hereford, on November 16 from 10am until 4pm.
