Welsh Water’s temporary traffic lights on the Hoarwithy Road, just south of Hereford at Green Crize, are set to be replaced with another set of temporary lights.
Welsh Water installed its traffic lights on Wednesday last week, May 16, to allow its workmen to carry out work at the site in preparation for the construction of the Rotherwas access road.
This set of temporary traffic lights is due to be taken down this weekend, Saturday, May 26.
At this point an overbridge is to be constructed to take the Hoarwithy road over the new access road.
To ensure workmen have sufficient space to work safely, traffic will need to be switched over onto a temporary road while these works take place.
As a result, traffic along this temporary stretch of road will be controlled by one-way traffic signals during this phase of the work, which could last for around seven months.
The switch over of traffic onto this temporary road is scheduled for the first week in June.
Every effort is being made to minimise the effect on traffic, but motorists are being advised to expect delays and leave longer time for journeys.
