Organisers of this year’s Herefordshire Walking Festival have included three walks specially for users of electric mobility vehicles and another walk which can also be accessed by the less mobile.
Three walks specially for users of electric mobility vehicles are Batteries Not Included 1, Batteries Not Included 2 and The Hidden History of Leominster, while a fourth, High Vinnalls All Ability Trail, can be accessed by wheelchair.
The first two walks are being held at Queenswood Country Park and people can bring along their own mobility vehicles or else reserve one by calling 01568 797842.
Both walks will be tours around the arboretum which features more than 50 rare and exotic trees including Californian redwoods and 40 different species of oak.
The tours will be on accessible surfaced paths and there will be stops to talk about wildlife, trees and archaeology.
Batteries Not Included 1 is being held on Friday, June 22 from 2pm until 4pm and Batteries Not Included 2 is on Saturday, June 23 from 2pm until 4pm.
The third walk, The Hidden History of Leominster, is on Wednesday, June 20 from 10.30am until noon when people taking part will view and learn stories from the movers and shakers of Leominster’s urban past. This route is also fully accessible by wheelchair.
High Vinnalls All Ability Trail is being held on Monday, June 18 from 10.30am until 11.30am. The trail which covers an all-weather, easy access surface, takes in a variety of habitats and two wildlife ponds.
Queenswood is accessible all year round to electric mobility vehicle users with three scooters now available to hire.
The site, at Dinmore Hill, also has disabled toilets and the newly resurfaced car park features designated parking spaces for the less mobile.
Herefordshire Walking Festival, which runs from June 16 to 24, is sponsored by Leominster-based M&M Sports.
