Election results for 3 May 2007

04 May 2007

Of all the people in Herefordshire eligible to vote, around 30 per cent visited their local polling station or returned postal ballot papers to help determine which 58 councillors would serve on Herefordshire Council for the next four years.

As soon as the polls closed at 10pm, 250 boxes of ballot papers from a total of 203 polling stations were whisked away to the leisure centre, on Holmer Road, Hereford.

You can find out how the voting went in your ward from our results page.

On the basis of parties declared for the election, the results are as follows:

  • Conservative 32 Councillors
  • Independent 12 Councillors
  • Lib Dem 10 Councillors
  • Labour 2 Councillors
  • Green 1 Councillor
  • Undeclared 1 Councillor

The next step is the process whereby elected councillors will formally declare political memberships. This will take place over the next week.
