For those who can remember it, and for those who weren’t around, this was the year of the classic film Star Wars, the pomp of the Queen’s Silver Jubilee and the death of Elvis.
Herefordshire is due to receive its new Museum on the Move bus in 2008 and this is a great one-day opportunity for the public to see what will be motoring around the county’s lanes next year.
The new bus has been made possible through funding from “Renaissance West Midlands” which channels government money to museums and helps the service engage with schools, community groups and events all over the county.
“We are really looking forward to getting a new, state-of the art bus,“ says Sarah Skelton, community heritage officer. “Although our current one has served us very well, it is nearly ten years old and has earned its retirement.”
The exhibition, “The King, the Queen and Disco Fever”, created by Worcestershire and Warwickshire County Councils, will be in High Town on Tuesday, April 24 from noon until 4pm.
The 2007 Herefordshire and Shropshire “Museum on the Move” exhibition “Unfair Trade: Slavery” is also available for booking.
