The Herefordshire Council Welfare Rights Team has joined with the local Pension Service to provide a home visiting service for people aged 60 or over, who need help with benefits or pensions issues.
The new joint team will be launched when it holds two roadshows - on Wednesday, April 18, and on Friday, April 20 - when representatives from the two teams will be available in Hereford’s High Town.
“So, if you want to know if you can receive benefits or discounts to help cut your council tax, you need to come along and have a chat with the team,” said Susie Binns, Joint Team Manager.
“If you, or any of your relatives are 60 or over, this will be your chance to meet the team who can ensure that you are getting all of the benefits and services you are entitled to” said Sue Wilce, Local Service Delivery Manager for the Pension Service.
“You might find that you can reduce your council tax bills and are entitled to other benefits and help that you’re not claiming, this will be a perfect opportunity to find out.”
Visitors to the roadshow will also be able to get information on other specialist help and advice services currently available in the county.
Anyone who has got a question for the new team, and can’t get into High Town on the launch date, April 18, or the second day the team will be there, April 20, can get in touch with them directly on (01432) 363756 or (01432) 363683 to arrange for a home visit.
