Local company gives Marshfield Centre the cutting edge

12 March 2007

Open spaces in Leominster are set to look their best this spring thanks to a donation from a local company to the town’s Marshfield Centre.

bpi.films, a major producer and supplier of plastic packaging films for industry and agriculture, has made a donation to Marshfield Day Centre from the proceeds of its segregated waste metal programme.

The money will be used by Marshfield’s to buy a mower which they will use to maintain community open spaces, like the town’s Millennium Green, and to purchase waterproof clothing for volunteers carrying out collections of waste paper/aluminium cans for recycling.

“We’re delighted with this donation from bpi.films as it will help us to improve the environment in Leominster,” said Jan Panniers, from Marshfield.

“Marshfield is a Herefordshire Council Day Service supporting people with learning disabilities. We are very actively involved in a number of Leominster volunteering projects and this donation really helps us to help the community,” added Jan.

bpi.films, through its ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, strives to reduce its impact on the environment from its site activities, and Chris Fletcher, bpi Sites & Services Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support the positive work that Marshfield volunteers do in Leominster”.
