Family Learning Weekend takes place on the 10 to 12 October 2003, and to mark this national event, headed by the Campaign for Learning, there will be a range of activities happening across Herefordshire.

Herefordshire Council, along with all other local authorities in England and Wales, has established a Standards Committee to ensure a high standard of conduct by Councillors.

On the 16th September 2003 Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd pleaded guilty to three offences under Petroleum Legislation, and were sentenced to pay a fine of £12,500 and £865.76 in costs. The case was brought to Hereford Magistrates Court by Herefordshire Council's Trading Standards Service acting as the Petroleum Licensing Authority (PLA) for the County.
