The Gwillam-Simcoe story, an intriguing tale of love and adventure, is on exhibition until 12th November. Set up with Heritage Lottery funding and a lot of hard work by Dr Anne Parker, the exhibition forges historical links between Toronto in Canada and Whitechurch near Ross-on-Wye.
Photographs depicting the story of the Chelsea Pensioners evacuation to Rudhall Manor and Moraston House in the 1940s can be seen for the first time from 14th November to 4th December. A wreath is laid on their memorial in Ross Churchyard at this time of year. There will also be information available on the history of the Chelsea Pensioners from its establishment by Charles II in the 17th century.
The Cards for Good Causes Shop will continue to sell Christmas cards alongside other seasonal goodies until 10th December. These cards tend to sell out very quickly for some of the charities, so an early trip to the shop is advised to avoid disappointment.
Father Christmas will be visiting the town on Saturday 16th December, and to celebrate his visit, craft staff are inviting children of all ages to come along to the Heritage Centre to make their own Christmas decorations. Further details will appear in the press at a later date.
