Public toilets up for auction

23 October 2006

Herefordshire Council has decided to sell the public toilets and an old office building in Union Street, Hereford.

A new purpose-built toilet block in the Gaol Street Car Park will replace this facility.

The property will be sold at auction on Friday, November 17, at the Left Bank Restaurant in Bridge Street at 4pm.

In total, the site extends to 25m by 10m and the auctioneers have set a guide price of £100,000 to £120,000.

Colin Birks, Property Services Manager, said: “The site is an ideal development site, subject to the necessary planning approvals. It could be suitable for offices or retail on the ground floor, with perhaps residential above.”

Anyone wanting more information should contact Nigel Highfield at Sunderlands on 01432 356161. Interested parties need to make their own inquiries on the planning potential of this site and should contact Herefordshire Council’s planning department on 01432 260000.
