The proposal to move the TIC from its current High Street location to the Masters House has come from Cllrs Roy Stockton, Cabinet Member (Community Services), and Cllr Mike Wilson, Cabinet Member (Resources).
As part of the Council’s procedures to ensure decisions are robust and gives value for money, the proposals can be “called in” by the council’s relevant Scrutiny Committee.
In this case Cllr Chris Chappell, Chairman of the Community Services Scrutiny Committee, will review the proposal when the committee meets in the Ledbury’s St Katherine’s Hall on Wednesday next week, October 18.
The meeting starts at 7pm and members of the public are invited to attend to listen to the debate and hear the evidence which will be given in support of the proposal.
Detailed questions on any agenda items are also welcomed and will be answered on the day provided they are submitted in writing 48 hours in advance of the meeting.
Once all the evidence has been heard, the Committee will adjourn and reconvene at 12.45pm on Friday, October 20, in the Council Chamber at Brockington, to announce any recommendations it wishes to make.
Cllr Chris Chappell, Chairman of the Community Services Scrutiny Committee, said: “This issue is being discussed in response to public concern.
“We need to make sure that appropriate consultation has been carried out and that the proposal is feasible, financially viable, value for money and the best possible solution.”
