Spring is a time of renewal, so Herefordshire’s libraries and museums are offering adults the opportunity to discover new things and acquire new skills.
As part of Adult Learners Week an exciting range of activities are continuing this week until Friday, May 26.
Highlights include “It’s only Words” workshops where everyone from novices to novelists can have fun playing with words, and “Silver Surfer” sessions, helping older citizens to click with e-mails and the Internet.
Those taking part will be able to test their knowledge of Herefordshire in a special quiz or try to name mystery museum objects, and those who really want to make an impression can have a go at printmaking.
All events are free, but places are limited.
“You’re never to old to learn a new skill or get a little better at what you do so these sessions are ideal for those who simply enjoy learning something new,” said Sarah Chedgzoy, Access and Learning Manager at Herefordshire Council.
“We’re looking for this year’s Adult Learners’ Week to be the biggest and best we’ve had in Herefordshire and emphasis will definitely be on having fun,” said Cllr. Stockton, Cabinet Member for Community and Social Development.
Anyone wanting to book a place should call either Sarah Chedgzoy or Julia Radburn on (01432) 260731, or contact the venue hosting the event.
Full details of the events can be found on posters displayed in all local libraries.
