Getting to grips with your roots

12 May 2006

Anyone keen to find out about their ancestors but unsure how to get started are invited to a half -day workshop at Herefordshire Record Office, Harold Street, Hereford on Saturday, May 20.

Staff of the archive service will introduce the most useful sources of information for family history and give hands on advice on how to make progress with a family tree.

Senior Archivist Rhys Griffith said: “More and more people are getting involved in family history, not just to make a chart of past family members, but to find out what their ancestors’ lives were like.

“Whether they went to school, spent time in prison, or just worked the land, archives can give an exciting insight into their experiences.”

Budding family historians can book a place on this free event by calling (01432) 260750.
