The workshop is aimed at developing participants theatrical skills and will work on aspects such as characterisation, creating and performing. It will be taught using a variety of physical theatre techniques.

The production, ‘The House Of No Return’, has been described as Hammer House of Horror meets Lost. It’s a visually striking mix of film, animation and spectacular live performance.

“One of the aims of Ross Creative Learning Centre is to provide people with the opportunity to participate in the creative arts and allow local audiences the chance to see something new and fresh,” said Elaine Clark, Creative Learning Centre Manager.
“This is our first event and it should make a huge impact, ‘Oddbodies’ and their production ‘The House Of No Return’ have both received rave reviews.
“We want the event to raise awareness of Ross Creative Learning Centre and encourage people to get involved with what we do and influence what we offer,” she added.
There will be opportunities for those attending the workshop and performance to get involved in other activities that Ross Creative Learning Centre is running in partnership with Herefordshire Council’s Community Youth Service and Basement Youth Trust.
People will also be asked to put forward their suggestions as to other activities and projects they would like to see Ross Creative Learning Centre deliver.
Young people will also be able to put themselves forward for getting involved in various aspects of management of the Centre.
The workshop and performance will take place on Saturday, March 25, at the Phoenix Theatre, Ross-on-Wye.
The workshop and performance are open to anyone over the age of 14. The workshop runs from 2-4pm and costs £1 per person.
The performance starts at 7.30pm, tickets cost £4.50 for adults, £2.50 children and concessions, £12 for a family ticket.
Places on the workshop are limited so booking is advisable. Both workshop places and tickets for the performance can be booked from the box office at Ross Tourist Information Centre on (01989) 562768.
The ‘Oddbodies’ workshop and production is supported by Arts Alive. The event is also funded by European Social Fund and Arts Council as part of the RCLC programme.
