Professional and semi-professional artists and craftmakers who are considering taking part this year are invited to a Planning Meeting on Wednesday, February 1.
The meeting takes place at the Council Chambers, Brockington, Hafod Road, Hereford, 6-7.30pm. To participate in h.Art, artists need to live, or work primarily, in the county or along its immediate borders.
At the meeting, Herefordshire Council’s Principal Arts Officer, Mel Potter, and h.Art Co-ordinator, Amanda Fitzwilliams, will announce details of how to apply for this year’s event and give short presentations on new plans and initiatives for 2006.
These will be followed by opportunities for artists to network with colleagues in their own region, share ideas, swap tips, contribute to marketing plans and put questions to the h.Art team.
Full details and application forms can be collected at the meeting. The final deadline for the return of forms is Friday April, 21.
During h.Art 2005, there were over 14,000 visits to Studios, Group Exhibitions and Galleries. Artists’ sales of work plus commissions totalled well over £67,000.
Other benefits enjoyed by participating artists and craftspeople include establishing new business contacts, increased confidence and networking opportunities.
Please contact Anna Morgan at Herefordshire Council’s Cultural Services to confirm attendance at the meeting, telephone, 01432 260182 or e-mail amorgan@herefordshire.gov.uk.
