Shop front grants

16 November 2005

Two shop fronts in the Leominster area are in line for facelift thanks to a new grant – and now other small businesses can cash in.

The former Jon Daniel Hair Salon in West Street, Leominster, will be repainted and renamed Reds Hair Studio. New signage will also be erected.

Markham’s garage, in Kingsland, will also undergo refurbishment work.

The grants were awarded under the Leominster Area Shop Front Grant Scheme, which is funded by Advantage West Midlands through the Market Towns Initiative.

Grants of up to £2,000 are being offered under the scheme to help improve the appearance of the town and surrounding villages.

Further shop front grants are available and owners and tenants within the Leominster Area are urged to apply.

Speaking on behalf of the Leominster Area Regeneration Company, Market Towns Officer, Adrian Turton, said that the funding provided a great opportunity to continue regeneration across the Leominster Area.

He added that applicants should apply now to complete their refurbishment by the end of March 2006.
