City centre visitors can access the facility, which costs just £1 per adult or £2 per car, from Saturday (Nov 19) at two sites.
From the north, drivers can use the A49 Holmer Road site, the Denco car park, where modern low-floor buses will take passengers directly to Shire Hall.
Travelling in from the south, the A49 Ross Road site, at Grafton, will be used to transfer passengers directly into Broad Street.
Park-and-ride 2005 will operate every Saturday from November 19 until Christmas Eve. The dates of operation are November 19, 26, and December 3, 10, 17 & 24.
Buses will operate every 15 minutes, from 9am. The last bus returning to the southern Grafton car park leaves Broad Street at 5.50pm.
From Shire Hall the last bus for the Denco northern car park leaves at 5.55pm.
Security staff will patrol both sites to ensure cars are secure. Parking is free.
Park-and-ride is an important part of the Council’s sustainable transport initiatives aimed at tackling traffic congestion.
Stephen Oates, Head of Highways and Transportation, said: “The successful Christmas Saturday park-and-ride service is back again to offer shoppers free and easy parking during one of Hereford’s busiest times of the year.
“Shoppers can choose free parking at two sites north and south of Hereford city centre and enjoy a comfortable bus ride for a nominal fare.
“The environmentally friendly service saves you the stress of searching for a parking spot and driving through busy streets by delivering you ‘door to door’ from your car to the heart of Hereford’s shopping.”
