Portal, a multi-sensory interactive sculpture made entirely of recycled materials, is the work of Nottingham-based artist Jan Niedojadlo and it has gone on display at Hereford Museum and Art Gallery, Broad Street, Hereford.
As part of the exhibition, which runs until October 29, Hereford artist Jason Hodges will also stage a photographic display of his latest work.
Mr Hodges, a former student at both Haywood School and Herefordshire College of Art and Design, has created a series of fungi photographs specifically for this exhibition.
Fungus from the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew Collection, which was recently featured on BBC series ‘A Year at Kew,’ will also be on display.
Linked to Herefordshire Festival of Fungus will be a series of one-day workshops at the museum during half-term.
Heritage centres across the county will stage ‘Sporing Drawing,’ a series of hands-on drawing workshops in Bromyard, Ledbury and Ross, which are being run in conjunction with ‘Campaign for Drawing’ and ‘The Big Draw,’ national events aimed at promoting drawing.
Meanwhile staff at Hereford Museum and Art Gallery are reminding the public of ‘Nelson in Herefordshire,’ an exhibition celebrating the 200th anniversary of the death of Lord Nelson at The Battle of Trafalgar.
Admission to Hereford Museum and Art Gallery is free and the Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am – 5pm. Closed on Sundays and Mondays.
