Roman coins, jewellery and brooches from Hereford Museum and Art Gallery will be exhibited at the centre as part of its October exhibition, which runs throughout the month.
The artefacts have been donated to Herefordshire Council’s Heritage Service by local metal detector Tom Smith.
Ariconium, in Weston-under-Penyard, near Ross-on-Wye, was excavated in the early 20th century.
Other activities being staged throughout October at Ross Heritage Centre include an exhibition of Nelson, a visit from the mobile museum and a sports draw activity day.
Herefordshire artist Christine Roscoe will have her portrait work on display until October 17.
Her work will be available for sale and visitors will also be able to commission paintings from her.
The Nelson exhibition is on show until the end of October. Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton will themselves be at the Market House in person during Trafalgar Day, on October 21.
A one day workshop on how to draw and paint fungi, called Sporing Drawing, will be held on October 28, between 10.30am – 1pm. Children must be accompanied by parents.
The Museum on the Move will also be on the Market Place for the day, between 11am – 4pm. This year’s theme is hedgerows.
There will be a Christmas card workshop weekend on October 29 – 30.
As well the activities programme, the heritage centre is now stocked with Christmas gifts and books which are available for sale.
The Cards for Good Causes will be returning for their third year of trading on November 8.
Ross Heritage Centre is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am – 5pm and 10.30am – 4pm on Sundays.
From November 1 the centre will be open Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30am to 4pm, and closed on Mondays.
The centre closes for lunch between 1pm and 1.30pm daily, if there is no relief staff available.
