Members of Staffordshire Pot Fair will set up stalls selling a wide range of goods from quality China and porcelain to crystal glass and figurines during the inaugural six-day event, from September 19 – 24.
The event, organised by Herefordshire Council’s Market Fairs and Street Trading, is expected to draw in crowds from all over the county and further a field.
Jeff Owen, Manager of Markets, Fairs and Street Trading, said the ancient High Town precinct would provide the perfect atmospheric backdrop for the fair.
“I am delighted that this unique trading event with its special atmosphere is to come to High Town,” he said.
“We are very keen to attract more people into Hereford to enjoy its lively atmosphere.
“This specialist event adds to our list and the attractions that Hereford has to offer.”
Cynthia Spaull, City Centre Manager, added: “Events like this add vitality, attraction and interest for our shopping and leisure customers, with a corresponding spin-off for the market hall and for all city centre retailers.”
Herefordshire Council’s Markets, Fairs and Street Trading organises the City’s calendar of fairs, which includes the Hereford Mayfair, Garden Fairs, Farmers’ Markets and European Markets.
If the Pot Fair is well-received organisers plan to make its inclusion permanent on the calendar of events.
