Artists will be at work in the woods from 12pm – 4pm both days, creating fun projects for all the family to join.
You will find lots of new ideas and inspiration - there will be paints, glues, exciting textiles, waxy things and lots of messy substances. You can find out how to make a print, construct your own piece of brightly coloured felt or even try your hand at making a textile hanging.
This year ‘Art in the Woods’ has been organised on a voluntary basis by Neil Millington and Jill Barneby, both mature students studying for a BA in Fine and Applied Art at the Hereford College of Art and Design. The organisation of this public art event is a piece of work that will qualify towards their degree so they would love you to come along to support them and have some fun.
Jill Barneby said “This is a great chance for all the family to get stuck in - there will be pots of paint, brushes for you to use, everything you need is in the woods, just bring along your imagination. There is ART to be made amongst the trees!”
“We intend to go ahead in all weather except heavy and persistent rain so don’t let a bit of drizzle put you off – it may add to the final effect of your piece of art. Remember to wear your oldest clothes that you don’t mind getting messy so you can join in without any worries,” she added.
Details of each day’s events will be posted on the white-board opposite the Tourist Information Centre at the Country Park. If you would like further information in advance of the weekend please contact Queenswood Country Park Tel: 01568 798342 or email: queenswood@herefordshire.gov.uk
