Herefordshire Helps Kick Racism Out Of Football

02 September 2005

Herefordshire Council will do its bit to show racism the red card when the national “Kick Racism Out Of Football” campaign continues for the fourth time this autumn.

The on-going campaign has a number of nationwide initiatives planned to run between October 13 to 25 - and in Herefordshire we are doing our best to raise as much awareness of the issue of racism as possible during this period.

The Kick It Out team will promote the campaign by going into youth centres and schools to work with young people to raise awareness.

Herefordshire will kick off the campaign of on Saturday, October 15. There will be a game between Leicester City Centre of Excellence Girls and the Herefordshire Girls Coaching Centre team on Saturday, kicking off at 11.30am at the Hereford Leisure Centre.

Organisers are also still drawing up plans for further activities – meanwhile, anyone wanting further information should contact Race Equality Officer Neville Meredith on (01432) 267307.
