The magazine has been launched following recent feedback received from young people in Ross-on-Wye who say they want more information from Herefordshire Council.
As a result, young people came together to make their voices heard in the shape of a magazine called ‘Room 21’.
Tudorville youth centre in Ross-on-Wye is now home to the creative force behind the magazine. Young people meet on a weekly basis at the centre to brainstorm ideas for their magazine.
Because ‘Room 21’ is written by and for young people, the issues it covers are always relevant and newsworthy. After reading ‘Room 21’ a young person from the Worcester area said: “This is cool. I wish we had a magazine like this in Worcester.”
‘Room 21’ is packed full of interesting articles, with music reviews, interviews with local bands, news on the Y-Zone refurbishment, and much, much more.
The first issue will be distributed free to many young people in Ross-on-Wye, but if you’ve not had a copy, then pop down to Tudorville Youth Centre.
Dan Hall, media youth worker said: “This is an ideal opportunity for teenagers to make a difference. They can have their say, as well as meeting new friends and having fun.
“If you’ve ever thought about becoming a journalist or photographer, or want to have your say on things that matter to you and you’re between 13-19 years old and live in the Ross area then why not see if the sessions are for you.”
To get involved with ‘Room 21’, or to simply find out more, pop into one of the sessions which start on Tuesday, 30 August, and run weekly on a Tuesday at Tudorville Youth Centre in Ross.
